The curriculum is currently being revised for both the Practical Nursing and Associate Degree Nursing programs. The following information can assist you as you begin to plan for entry into the program.
All prospective nursing students must be listed on the Illinois Department of Public Health Registry, in good standing, as Certified Nurse Assistants.
The following General Education Courses are recommended for completion within 5 years with a grade of C or better:
High school Chemistry or CHE 1101 General Chemistry I
ZOO 1105 Anatomy and Physiology 1
ZOO 1106 Anatomy and Physiology 2
PSYC 2101 General Psychology
An English course will be required.
If compass scores in Writing Skills are below 69 and Math Skills below 31 appropriate college Prep courses are required to be taken.
It is anticipated that some of these general education courses can be taken concurrently with the nursing programs but completion of these courses prior to application will be beneficial to your educational endeavour.
Since the Nursing programs are under revision all parts of the curriculum are subject to change.
