ASSESSMENT TESTING
Students need to take the COMPASS/ASSET test if they plan to take a math class, an English class, or a class with a reading prerequisite. All students registering for 12 or more credit hours or students who have accumulated 12 credit hours must take the assessment test prior to registration.
Students are exempt if they scored at least a 20 in English, a 20 in Reading and a 22 in Math on the ACT or a 490 in English and a 520 in Math on the SAT. Testing takes place on a daily basis on campus with other testing dates and times scheduled as needed. Test scores are valid for five years. Students are allowed to take the COMPASS/ASSET test a maximum of two times after the beginning of their senior year.
