English as a Second Language (TESL)

Register now to become a certified Teacher of English as a Second Language (TESL).

Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, in connection with Rend Lake College, is offering an 18 credit-hour evening program in Mt. Vernon for persons wishing to become certified TESL instructors. Students will take one course each semester (including summers) to complete the certification within two years. Courses will be presented in a distance learning format, with students participating simultaneously at both the SIUE and the Mt. Vernon sites. Mt. Vernon students may be required to drive to SIUE one or two times each semester.

First course: Principles of Linguistics, ENG 400

Begins Fall Semester, 2006
