Q: I want to start classes in Early Childhood Education. Are there certain requirements that I must meet before I can enroll in classes?
A: Before enrolling in classes, you will need to meet the admission requirements specified by Rend Lake College. You may then enroll in ECE classes. See new student Admissions.
Q: I’ve looked at the outline of classes in the RLC catalog. Do I have to follow this outline? May I begin my classes in the spring instead of the fall?
A: Yes, you may begin classes during the spring semester, but be sure to talk to an ECE advisor to set up an education plan to attain your career goal.
Q: I want to open my own child care facility. What classes do I need to take?
A: We recommend that you follow the program outline for the AAS in Early Childhood Education.
Q: I know I want to work with children, but I’m not sure in what capacity. What classes should I take?
A: We recommend that you talk to an ECE advisor to examine the possibilities of employment. This will ultimately determine the classes that should be taken.
