Background Check-Child Development Students

A cleared background check, a negative TB test result, a medical report, and a Hepatitis B vaccine or waiver are required for admission in all Early Childhood Education classes. The physical examination should be completed no more than three months prior to the starting date of classes. The physical examination should provide evidence that the student is free of communicable disease, and free of physical or mental conditions that could affect their ability to perform assigned duties.

Failure to secure such documents, will deem the student ineligible to continue in any early childhood education class. The documents are due by the end of the fourth week of classes.

• Students should take the completed fingerprinting form with confirmation #, and drivers license to fingerprinting site. No appointments are necessary.

In case of an indicated background check, students will be ineligible to continue in early childhood education classes. A student may request an appeal by contacting the department chair of the Allied Health Department.

All information will be kept confidential.

Fingerprinting form, health form, Hepatitis B vaccine or waiver, and TB test results, must be submitted to Beth Stevens, South Oasis 104. .
